Speaker Interview: Steve Mortiboy

September 29, 2015Speaker InterviewsOpen Graph, Social Sharing, Steve MortiboyTim S

Tim: What’s your WordPress “orgin” story?

I got my start 6 years ago when my best friend introduced me to WordPress 2.9 and eventually hired me to work with him as Semper Fi Web Design to help customers with their WordPress sites.

Tim: Whats your top 3 WordPress plugins? Why?

  1. All in One SEO Pack – Because we develop it and I know how much work goes into making it the best possible plugin we can.
  2. BackupBuddy – I rely on this plugin every day and it’s never failed me either with backups, restores or site moves.
  3. WooCommerce – It’s made building complex e-commerce stores much easier for us and our clients and they’ve achieved so much with it

Tim: Whats your most proud achievement around WordPress?

The sheer number of people we’ve helped over the past 6 years. I hope that the part we’ve played has helped to grow the community and encouraged others to get involved with WordPress.

Tim: What do you want our readers to know about you?

I’m an Englishman living the southern life in rural North Carolina and loving every minute of it.

Tim: Define yourself with one word.
